Stilt Houses linocut
While traveling through Louisiana I came across entire towns built on stilts and the constant threat of flooding. It made me think of the perseverance of people living in a place they call home that has become more and more inhospitable.
In recent years we have witnessed a drastic change in weather patterns and flooding is becoming a threat for a larger portion of the world’s population. All that thinking was going on while I created this print, hopefully this isn’t the future of our towns and just a reminder of those resilient ones down in the swamps of Louisiana.
This print is 4.5×4.5″ it is hand printed using a hand carved linoleum plate. The paper unused is Acid free Stonehenge and measures approximately 7.5×7.5″
