Stilt Houses linocut
When I traveled through Louisiana, I came across towns built on stilts because of the constant threat of flooding, this made me think of the perseverance of people living in a place they call home; which has become more and more inhospitable.
In recent years we have witnessed a drastic change in weather patterns, and flooding is becoming a threat for a larger portion of the world’s population. All that thinking was going on while I created this print, hopefully this isn’t the future of our towns and just a reminder of the resiliency of the people in the swamps of Louisiana.
This print is 4.5×4.5″ I printed using a hand carved linoleum plate. The paper is Acid free and measures approximately 7.5×7.5″
